Nature Photo of a Western White Butterfly - Often Mistaken for the Cabbage Butterfly

About This Nature Photo

This nature photo of a western white butterfly was taken in the wild. He (or she) was the most cooperative of photo subjects, perhaps too entwined with its interest in the flowers to notice me.

Butterflies tend to like the cooler times of day as they tend to be rather fragilely-built critters.   I think they are so much prettier on film than when pierced with a straight pen and stuck on a board.
